About 1 000 People Have Taken Part in the National Dombyra Day in Nur-Sultan
Today, on July 7, a grand concert dedicated to the celebration of the National Dombyra Day of has been held in Nur-Sultan. This year, over 1 000 people have been brought together in the square near “Qazaq Yeli” Monument to take part in the mass performance of the people’s music battles of dombyra playing. Everyone were able to participate in the event without any age restrictions. The kyuis such as “Saryarqa”, “Adai”, “Alqisa”, “Konil Tolqyny”, “Balbyraun” and “Koreguly” have sounded from the stage.
The President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev has attended a festive concert in honor of the National Dombyra Day and congratulated the Kazakhstanis on the National Dombyra Day.
“Dear compatriots! First of all, I would like to congratulate you on the occasion of the great holiday of the National Dombyra Day! We should take this holiday as a tribute to spiritual values”. It is not a secret for anybody that many peoples suffered the fate of being excommunicated from their history, traditions and customs. But thanks to the far-sighted policy of our Yelbasy Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev, all these is beginning to revive,” – said Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev at the concert in Nur-Sultan.
“Today, dombyra should become the most valuable asset, raising the spirit of every Kazakh,” – the President noted.
There were the prominent figures of culture such as Seken Turysbek, Bekbolat Tleukhan, Aigul Kossanova, Klara Tolenbayeva and many others among the participants of today’s concert. The conductor was the Honored Figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the composer Aitkali Zhaiymov, the Head of Nur-Sultan Department of Culture and Sports, Bolat Mazhagulov, and others.
The concert program was not limited to the mass performance of kyuis, the students of the capital’s music schools have also performed for the guests, the actors of “Zhastar” Theater have presented a historical production, and aitys of akyns has been held within the celebration. In addition, an ethnographic museum with yurts has been arranged in the square near “Qazaq Yeli” Monument. One of them featured an exposition with the dombyras of the famous kyuishis of the past years, the other featured an exhibition of the famous masters of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the production of national musical instruments. In semi-yurts, visitors could get introduced to the national instruments and its manufacturing technology.
Tonight, the celebration will be continued with the concert of “Nagyz Qazaq – Dombyra” at the Amphitheatre at Yessil River Waterfront. The Kazakh Orchestra, as well as soloists and vocalists of the State Academic Philharmonic Society of Nur-
Sultan Akimat will perform for the audience. The concert starts at 17:00, admission is free.
It should be recalled that the capital is celebrating the National Dombyra Day for the second time. This holiday was approved by the Decree of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. Its emergence on the calendar is a very important, historic event for the Kazakh people.
