13 Countries Will Present Their Boxers at VII International Boxing Tournament for the Cup of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan
On July 16, VII International Boxing Tournament for the Cup of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be started in Nur-Sultan. The competitions, which will last until July 20, will involve participation of representatives from 13 countries, as it is informed by the official website of the capital’s akimat.
In total, 123 boxing men and 33 boxing women from Algeria, Bulgaria, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Russia, Syria, the Philippines, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have applied for participation in the tournament.
In the men’s category Kazakhstan will be represented by 37 boxers, in the women’s – by 33 athletes. They are 2017 World Champion Kairat Yeraliyev (up to 57 kg), 2017 Champion of Asia among the youth Sanatali Toltayev (63 kg), the prize-holder of the World Championship and the Asian Championship in 2017 Ablaikhan Zhussupov (69 kg), the prize-holder of the World Championship and Asian Championship in 2017 Abilkhan Amankul (75 kg), 2017 Asian Championship Prize Winner Yerik Alzhanov (81 kg), 2016 Olympic Games Silver Winner Vassiliy Levit (91 kg), 2017 World Cup and Asian Championship Prize Holder Kamshibek Konkabayev, two-time World Champion Nazym Kyzaibai (51 kg), Olympic Prize Holder in 2016 Dariga Shakimova (75 kg), 2012 Olympic Prize Holder Marina Volnova (75 kg) and 2017 Champion of Asia Madina Nurshayeva (64 kg).
The fights will be held in eight weight categories among men and in five weight categories among women.
The first place winners will receive a prize of 2 000 USD, the second place winners will receive 1 000 USD, and the third place holders will receive 500 USD.
The tournament’s opening ceremony will be held on July 16 in “Daulet” Sports Complex. The finals and announcement of the winners will be held on July 20.
