An Athlete from Nur-Sultan Has Become the Bronze Medal Holder at the Greco-Roman Wrestling World Cup

On August 4, the Greco-Roman Wrestling World Cup among cadets, which involved the strongest wrestlers from 52 countries of the world, has been completed in Sofia (Bulgaria). The Kazakhstani athletes have won 1 gold and 2 bronze medals at the championship.

The athlete of the capital’s Olympic Reserve Training Center and the Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve No. 3, Maksat Sailau, has won the bronze medal in the 80 kg weight category upon defeating the opponent from Finland, Jonni Sarkkinen, in a difficult fight.

It should be reminded that Maksat Sailau is the bronze medalist of the Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2018, the Champion of the Republic of Kazakhstan among cadets in 2019 and the Champion of Asia among cadets in Greco-Roman wrestling in 2019.
