This week, one of the most favorite holidays of the residents will be held – the Day of the Capital. Traditionally, most of the events dedicated to the birthday of the city are held in open areas, parks, public gardens, residential areas. Akimat of Nur-Sultan has prepared a varied festive program for the guests, where everyone will be able to find something for himself or herself.

On July 4, several festivals begin their activities in the capital.

Thus, the “Echo of Asia” international circus art festival is being opened on that day. Guests will be able to enjoy bright extraordinary performances of circus artists who came from all over the world. The program features trained animals, aerialists, equilibrists, clowns and much more. There will also be a traditional procession of the festival participants through the streets of the city.

“Shattyk” International Festival of Children’s Art will be also launched on July 4 in the City Square in front of the akimat. Beginning artists will sing, dance, walk in fashionable clothes.

During July 4 to July 6, X Astana International Festival of Brass Orchestras will be held at the venues of the capital. The most long-awaited event of the festival, the parade of orchestras along the streets of the capital, will take place in the morning of July 6. After that the guests will be able to enjoy a Platz Concert in the City Square.

Those who like singing will be able to participate in the traditional karaoke Championship of “Everyone Sings!” among children and adults to be held in the capital on July 5 and 6. The karaoke contest will take place on the stage of the Amphitheater at the Waterfront of Yessil River.

The capital will host the festival of books and poetry, “Nur-Sultan – Yelimіzdin Bas Qalasy, Zhastar – Bolashaqtyn Bastamasy!”, for the admirers of the great Kazakh poets and beginning writers in the capital. On July 5, Abai’s readings, dramatized performances, reading contests and a book exhibition will take place in the square near the monument to Abai.

On the same day, the City Square will host International Street Dance Session in Astana festival. Spectators will watch one-on-one dance battles and team competitions.

During the same period, The Spirit of Eurasia 2019 International Festival of Contemporary Ethnic Music will be opened at the summer venue of EXPO territory. In addition to the performances of artists, there will be a fair and an ethnic town of craftsmen.

On July 6, “Industrialniy”, “Internatsionalniy”, “Zheleznodorozhniy”, “Prigorodniy”, “Urker”, “Koktal-1” residential areas will host “Dumandy Saryarka” festive program for the whole family. Pop stars will perform for the residents, and kinds will be able to enjoy games with entertainers dressed in the costumes of their favorite cartoon characters.

There will be a festive program and events that will be delightfully attended by sports fans.

The brightest of them is the evening of professional boxing, “Future Legends”, where the title match will be held by the undefeated Kazakhstani boxer Zhankosh Turarov. It will take place on July 6 in Barys Arena Ice Palace.

The series of celebrations on the occasion of the Day of the Capital will be completed with a concert dedicated to the National Day of Dombyra to be held on July 7 in the square near “Qazaq Yeli” Monument. The beginning is at 12 in the afternoon. In the evening of the same day, the celebration of Dombyra Day will be continued with the concert of “Nagyz Qazaq Dombyra”, which will be held at the Amphitheater at 5 pm.

On the final days of the festivities, on the evening of July 7 and 8, Thai artists will perform on the stage of the Amphitheater with the concert program of “Thailand Nights”. The performance of the teams will become a gift from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in Kazakhstan by the Day of the Capital, and the event is also timed to the celebration of the 15th anniversary of cooperation between the sister cities of Nur-Sultan and Bangkok.
