Constitution Day: Where To Spend Holiday Weekends in the Capital City
The end of August is known for the celebration of our public holiday – Constitution Day. There are three days off ahead: a complete program of the upcoming events is prepared by the major city of the country for its residents and guests, the official website of the capital mayor office reports.
The main one in the course of events will be the concert of Kazakhstani pop stars to be held in the parking area of Central Park. Ali Okapov, the Ringo group, Dos, the Alaman Trio, the Royal Quartet, the Gentlemen Group as well as the artists of the State Academic Philharmonic of Nur-Sultan City and the creative group of State Dance Theatre “NAZ” will be holding an open-air concert for the guests and residents of the city. Everyone can attend the concert. The beginning is at 5:00 PM, the program will last till 10:30 PM.
The Sport Festival named “Qazaqstan Jastar Fest” will be held the same day in the City Square. The following kinds of sports will be held at the festival: tug of war, asyk atu, weight-lifting, arm wrestling, grappling, futsal, streetball, Bicycle Motocross and break dance. Moreover, the competitions of athletes of the Republican National Federation of Kyokushinkai-kan Karate, a 4-time world record holder in power numbers, and the successor of the well-known Kazakh paluans Kazhymukan Munaitpasov and Baluan Sholak – Sergey Tsyrulnikov will be held. In the course of the festival, the Open City Championship in Asyk Atu will be held at the same venue, and can be attended by everyone. The event will begin at 5:00 and will last till 7:00 PM.
A parade of museums “Heritage of the Great Steppe”, dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the museum will be hosted by the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the opening ceremony the following events will be held: a concert, master classes in applied art, wood carving, ceramic ware production, excursions in the museum halls, quizzes, a book and souvenirs fairs, and national games such as Togyzkumalak, Asykatu, Schoenber, etc. The event will last from 6:00 PM till 03:00 AM.
As a part of “Rukhani Zhangyru” program, a concert of the Astana pop and symphony orchestra, which is dedicated to Constitution Day celebration, will take place at “Zhastar Palace”. The event starts at 7:00 PM.
The Congress Center will host Eurasia Fashion Week shows. The collections of spring and summer of the next year will be demonstrated by the Kazakh and foreign designers. As a part of the Fashion Week, a showroom for designers will be operating and educational master classes from international guests of EFW will be held.
EURASIAN FASHION WEEK is a new international platform representing the fashion and style of the entire Eurasian continent, bringing together world-class designers and discovering new titles.
In the capital’s Puppet Theater, the residents and guests of the city will be able to watch a fun performance named “The Tricks of Sloth.” The tale tells the story of a lazy finger that does not want to study, play sports, and especially learn the driving rules. The performance in Kazakh will be available at 2:00 PM, in Russian – at 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM. The ticket price is 700 tenge.
At the Central Park, Zhetysu and Zheruyyk parks there will be a children’s entertainment program – “Seven Wonders of the Park”, which for the third year has been pleasing its young capital residents and guests. Minions, Barbie dolls, cartoon characters from Madagascar, Sponge Bob and others will be entertaining the young guests of the parks of Nur-Sultan.
Two exhibitions will be held at the same time at the Palace of Independence – “The Akanaev Dynasty” and “Ata-zan – people’s support, Nur-Sultan – the people’s heart”.
Weekly outdoor fitness trainings will be held in the open air of “Fitness Park Nur-Sultan”. Free sports trainings are held every Sunday from 10:00 AM till 12:00 PM within the four parks of the city – Stolichny, Zhetysu and Zheruyyk, as well as the Botanical Garden. They will be handled under the guidance of the certified trainers in such sports as CrossFit, yoga, boxing, Brazilian jiu Jitsu, Zumba, board games (checkers, chess) and group jogging classes.
